Advanced Search Tools

The NeuroTrials.ai search engine has been designed for clinical precision and flexibility. Here’s how to get the most out of your search experience:

Search Modes

  • Default Search (OR logic): Typing tPA alteplase finds trials containing either term.
  • AND Search: Use + or and between terms: tPA + alteplase or tPA and alteplase to require both terms.
  • Exact Phrase: Enclose your query in quotes: "large vessel occlusion" to find the exact phrase.

Field-Specific Filters

You can restrict your search to specific parts of the trial data:

  • title:tpa — Search within trial titles only
  • summary:alteplase — Search within the study summary
  • objective:basilar — Search within the objective
  • keywords:TNK — Match tags and keyword labels
  • year:2025 — Filter by year of publication

Combining Techniques

You can mix general terms, phrases, and field filters:

  • title:NINDS + year:1995 — Title contains “NINDS” and year is 1995
  • "basilar artery" + thrombolysis — Phrase and keyword must both match
  • summary:alteplase title:tpa — Both fields must match their values
